PhD fellow Marko Sinčić held an oral presentation at the EGU 2023 conference in Vienna

At the international conference European Geoscience General Assembly (2023) held from April 23 to 28, 2023 in Vienna, PhD fellow Marko Sinčić gave an oral presentation entitled “A slope units based landslide susceptibility analyzes using Weight of Evidence and Random Forest” (authors Marko Sinčić, Sanja Bernat Gazibara, Martin Krkač, Hrvoje Lukačić, Snjezana Mihalić Arbanas).

The scientific research carried out in the paper shows the advantages and disadvantages of the Weight of Evidence and Random Forest methods used in landslide susceptibility analyses. In particular, the analyzes included the creation of landslide susceptibility maps at a regional scale for a defined pilot area in Italy (Umbria). Susceptibility maps were created using the slope units mapping unit, and the results show the possibilities of using the mentioned methods and mapping units that are part of the research carried out on the LandSlidePlan project.
